Get Candy Out of Carpet
How you get candy out of carpet depends on the type of candy
and how long it has been there. Clean up any spills quickly and
they may not become stains. Assuming you discover the candy in
the carpeting long after the fact, here some thing to do to get
it out.
Blot up liquids using white cotton cloth or paper towels.
Scrape out dried chucks using a dull knife or the edge of
a spoon.
Try water to remove any remaining candy stains, applying small
amounts and blotting this up repeatedly using white cotton cloth
or plain white paper towels.
Now, if there still is something there, mix a few drops of
dish detergent in a few ounces of warm water and apply this a
bit at a time. Work it in gently (no heavy rubbing) and soak
it up with that white cloth or paper towels. Repeat until you
don;t see any of the stain or substance transferring to the cloth.
Rinse the area with water several times, blotting it up between
applications. Dry the area quickly, first blotting out the moisture,
and the putting a fan nearby to blow over the spot.
Some candy will have coloring that can cause permanent stains.
